College Scholarship in Photo Contest Ends March 18, 2011
December 6, 2010
University Language Services wants to know what inspires students to study abroad. And now, they’re hosting a photo scholarship contest to get some (creative) answers.
University Language Services will award one $500 grand prize scholarship and two $100 scholarships in its newest contest.
All students that have studied abroad, are currently studying abroad, or have chosen a study abroad program that they’ll be embarking on in the near future are eligible to enter.
Students must submit a photo along with a 200-word description of why that photo illustrates his or her inspiration for studying abroad.
The subject of the photo can vary — a bowl of delicious curry, the dish that inspired a student to study abroad in Mumbai, a kangaroo noticed at a zoo that inspired a student to study in Sydney or even a friend, whose stories of growing up in Tel Aviv inspired the student to study abroad there. The most important thing is to be creative!
Students can submit their photo during any of the six rounds of the contest. University Language Services will post the six best submissions on the ULS website. Then, visitors to the site can vote for their favorite. The two photos with the most votes will be the finalists for that round.
At the end of the final round, the scholarship winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from the finalists.
All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (EST) March 18, 2011. Please see the submission form (http://www.universitylanguage.com/scholarships/submission/) and official rules (http://www.universitylanguage.com/scholarships/rules/) for more information.
